Marketing Overview

The Four P's of Marketing

Product
This aspect of marketing deals with the specifications of your good and or service and how it relates to your audience's needs and wants (like I said before, needs and wants is a must to understand). Product information or serviecs should generally include any support, warranties, guarantees and any other goodies you can throw in.

Pricing-
Setting a price point on a product or service can be overwhelming. You need not to mention a monetary value, but to mention and relate how your service and or product is beneficial to the end-user; ie., saving time, energy (software or hardware), backup software (critical file backup), and banking software (saves you time and paper). Methods of setting prices are optimally in the domain of pricing science.

Promotion-
Advertising, sales, email marketing newsletters, Google Adwords (Search Engine Marketing), and flyers are all types of promotion in which an individual or a business can do to help advertise their software/service. Of course, promotion comes with a hefty cost and ROI (return on investment).

Placement-
The concept of placement refers to how to product/service is rendered to the customer. Either selling your product or service at BestBuy, Circuit City or Fry's Electronics. Another concept would be if you are selling software to your audience online and are offering digital download server, buy the product, download it instantly. Placement varies and is cost-effective if done right.
